Whether seeking a romantic retreat, a peaceful weekend getaway from today's busy lifestyle, or an enchanting setting for a wedding or other milestone event, Gramercy Mansion offers exceptional hospitality with an Old World flavor. The majestic Tudor-style mansion and estate is situated on 45 acres in Maryland's historic Greenspring Valley. Tucked away in delightful seclusion yet only minutes from downtown Baltimore and the Inner Harbor, the estate is all the more treasured for it's convenience to area attractions including fine restaurants, museums, theaters and historic sites.

Built in 1902 by Alexander J. Cassatt, owner of the Pennsylvania Railroad and brother of the American Impressionist painter Mary Cassatt, Gramercy Mansion was presented as a wedding gift to his daughter, Eliza. Later owners included the prominent Senator Brewster family, descendants of Benjamin Franklin, and the Koinonia Foundation, a predecessor of the Peace Corps. Under the ownership of the Pomykala family, the home has been restored and welcomes guests far and wide with the charming ambiance of a country bed & breakfast.

Guests travel up a winding road lined with stone walls and vistas to the porte cochere and enter the spacious foyer, showcasing a stunning chandelier. Main floor rooms feature fireplaces, period furnishings, oriental carpets, artwork and antiques. A graceful winding staircase leads to ten charmingly decorated guest suites on the second and third floors. Bed & Breakfast rooms boast comfortable king-sized beds, fireplaces surrounded in period tile and topped with mantles of walnut or oak, and whirlpool tubs set in marble. We are fully handicap-accessible with a lovely first-floor guest room offering an accessible double whirlpool tub, king-sized bed and entrances.

A sumptuous gourmet breakfast is prepared each morning with fresh herbs and produce from our working farm, organically maintained and operated since the 1950s, and served on the sunny terrace or by a glowing fire in the dining room.

Birdwatching and hiking are among the numerous on-site activities enjoyed by guests. An Olympic-sized pool and tennis court are available for guest use as well.

Gramercy Mansion and the adjacent Carriage House may be reserved for weddings, parties, and corporate meetings, treating guests to memorable events celebrated with the style and grace of an era past.
