Fire Mountain Cuisine

Our cuisine is inspired by our spectacular setting, the locally grown seasonal and organic produce from our organic gardens here at Fire Mountain and the surrounding mountaintop farms of our immediate area. Our cuisine mirrors much of our philosophy at Fire Mountain – simplicity with subtle complexities.

We believe in cooking seasonally with locally and naturally raised foods. The culinary formula for Fire Mountain is based on creating light dishes built on seasonal produce. Using fresh, local ingredients means the menu is always changing. We believe that we are in a partnership with the land and are learning from it that sustainability is achieved when all relationships prosper.

American Way Magazine – American Airlines – August 15, 2003

Fire Mountain Treehouses – Part of a collection of luxury cabins and an Inn, these treehouses look to the west, perfect for the smoky sunsets that give the mountain its name. There are no signs leading to this resort outside Highlands, North Carolina (southwest of Asheville), and only guests are welcome.

Sophistication meets mighty mountain scenery at Fire Mountain Inn. A few miles from Highlands and hidden (there are no signs) atop Fire Mountain, the stylish retreat offers airy rooms and cabins with champagne-colored walls, sailcloth draperies, and pencil-post, honey-pine beds. The cabins come with two-person hot tubs and porches with heavenly valley views. For ultimate privacy, I stayed in one of the treehouses, located down a little path from the Inn and shrouded in a sea of false Solomon.
