Bear Mountain Inn is a lakefront Bed and Breakfast located on 52 acres in Waterford Maine. Because the property is surrounded by Bear Mountain, Bear River and Bear Pond, we are a haven to nature and wildlife. Our Country Inn features 9 rooms , two 2-bedroom suites for families and two large luxurious suites for a special occasion or romantic getaway. Our B&B would not be complete without a new designed cottage complete with fireplace, log bed, kitchenette and antique bath tub. A log cabin in the woods with a view of Bear River and Bear Pond is perfect for those who want to rough it. Each bedroom in the Inn has its own special touch. The Inn features two fieldstone fireplaces. An outdoor fieldstone BBQ Pit with large deck overlooks the Lake. With a wrap around porch and many rockers, the Inn invites you to stay and unwind for many days. Leave your everyday stress behind and enjoy finding your sense of inner peace. You’ll enjoy taking a rigorous hike up Bear Mountain, or a nice relaxed stroll along the wooded trail of Bear River. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, or a paddleboat trip on Bear Pond or a nap in our hammock as you leave your everyday stress behind.

Your emotions will be stirred by the beauty that gently surrounds our Country B & B. Our guests wake to the sounds of nature and loon calls. The surrounding area is known as the Western Maine Lakes and Mountains Region. Nearby are several quaint towns such as Bridgton, Bethel, Lovell, Fryeburg and Harrison. Bear Inn is located just one hour from Portland Maine.

The Bear Paw suite creates a peaceful atmosphere, with it's Southwestern theme, queen size Santa Fe bed, pine floors and private entry. Your outside deck faces west - ideal for sunset views of Mt Trireme. A luxury bathroom offers a Jacuzzi for two with low windows to view mountain sunsets. The Suite also includes: Cable Television, CD Player, thick plush towels, bathrobes, and a tile shower for two. $250 Nov-May; $275 June-Oct

Picture your private event in our intimate quiet setting surrounded by tall pines and a beautiful lake in the background. Bear Mountain Inn is the ideal location for your special dinner, party, or reception. We can comfortably accommodate up to 50 people for buffet dinners, cocktail parties, or receptions. Dinners are available in the Bear Paw Conference Room on Saturday nights only Reservation prior to booking is necessary. The Bear Paw room has a beautiful view of the lake from the large glass doors and deck area.

 The activities in the area are endless. Surrounded by 52 acre of rolling fields and forest, the country style Bed and Breakfast provides a perfect environment for birds and other wildlife that adds to our guest’s enjoyment of the property.

Bear Mountain Inn provides a sandy beach and canoes, kayaks and a paddleboat for our guest’s enjoyment. The Boys and Girls Summer Camps abound in Western Maine and Bear Mountain Inn is the home to many parents who visit their kids during the summer. In the fall, the Lakes and Mountains of Maine attract the leaf peepers, apple pickers and Fryeburg fair goers. Wintertime is a very special season in Maine. Because of our location our guests our minutes from Shawnee Peak in Bridgton and Sunday River in Bethel. BMI is located on a major ITS Snowmobile Trail and we can provide our guests with a Snowmobile from Western Maine Snowmobiles. Located only 30 minutes from the White Mountains and Conway New Hampshire, hiking, antiquing and shopping also popular pastimes for our guests. Visiting the local Bison Farm, Horseback riding Centers and Llama Farms in the oxford hills area also attracts many visitors.


For exceptional Maine weddings, receptions and commitment ceremonies, consider all that the Bear Mountain Inn has to offer. With outstanding views of mountains and lakes from our open fields, and the rustic elegance of our surroundings, we can provide you with a pleasing and memorable day that will live up to all the expectations you have for this special day in your life. Your wedding reception can be held either outside in a large white wedding tent overlooking Bear Lake or inside our Bear Paw Function Room, offering French doors overlooking the lake. Small weddings of up to 60 people can be held inside, while anything larger is recommended for outside. We can cater your rehearsal dinner as well as your complete wedding or commitment ceremony, recommending top caterers from Portland to Western Maine. Your ceremony can be performed outside on our 70ft deck overlooking Bear Lake or in any of the several local churches located nearby.


Bear Mountain Inn is the ideal place for meetings, conferences and cooperate retreats. Just imagine a productive meeting in a serene setting overlooking Bear Lake. We have 12 guest rooms to house your executives and staff and can make arrangements for additional rooms in the Waterford area within minutes of the Inn. Our Conference and Meetings Room can be set up in any way that best accommodates your needs. Continental Breakfast and Lunch can be served by our Bear Mountain Inn Staff. Our beautiful location will provide your staff with many options during non-business time. In late spring, summer, and fall guests can hike, bike, canoe, kayak, swim, fish, walk our nature trails or just relax with a good book in our of our many hammocks by the water. In the winter besides relaxing by a fire in the living room our guests can snowmobile, ski or snow shoe our trails.
